Case Study: Pāpāmoa College

In response to the growing student population at Pāpāmoa College, the Ministry of Education initiated a large-scale construction project to expand the school’s facilities. The project, which began in 2021, included two roll-growth teaching blocks, a technology block, administration spaces, and a library, with a total capacity to accommodate up to 2200 students. Modo Flooring was engaged to provide flooring solutions that were durable, aesthetically appealing, and functional for high-traffic areas within the school.

Solution

Modo Flooring supplied premium carpet tiles and Autex acoustic panels for the teaching blocks, library, and staffroom. The carpet tiles were chosen for their durability and ability to withstand heavy foot traffic, while the acoustic panels played a key role in managing noise levels, creating a more conducive learning environment.

In mid-2024, Modo Flooring extended its work to the technology block (Block 7), which featured commercial kitchens, IT spaces, and a large atrium. For this space, the flooring solutions focused on safety and functionality, particularly in areas prone to spills and heavy use. Modo Flooring is currently involved in the refurbishment of administrative spaces, scheduled for completion in 2025.

By mid-2024, Modo Flooring had successfully delivered durable flooring for Blocks 4 and 6, helping to create modern, functional spaces that enhance the learning experience. The technology block’s specialised flooring has proven resilient in high-demand areas, contributing to the functionality of commercial kitchens and IT spaces.
